LOOKING BACK AT 10 YEARS OF DEVOPS
10 years ago we had the idea to organise a conference in Gent to bridge the gap between developers and the people runing their code. It was the start of a new global movement. We never predicted that #devops would be where #devops is today. The word devops has evolved, the community has evolved. Over the years the word devops lost it’s meaning at least it’s original meaning. The real challenge for the next decade will be to see how we can revive those original values and ideas, if at all… Can we fix Devops? This talk will give you some Ideas about that.
HOW TO CONVINCE YOU MANAGEMENT TO GET KUBERNETES
You want to be on the cutting edge of the cutting edge. Kubernetes is all the rage these days. But businesses are often times slow to change. Sometimes it’s hard to convince management to change tech stack. You probably already tried. So did many of your peers, I curated a handy list of things you could do to convince management to get Kubernetes for your next project. Or better yet move the entire stack to Kubernetes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are DevOpsDays?
DevopsDays are worldwide series of technical non-profit conferences covering topics of software development, IT infrastructure operations, and the intersection between them. Each event is run by volunteers from the local area.
Inclusiveness and respect for differences are core DevOps values, and we invite you to help us make each DevopsDays event a place that is welcoming and respectful to all participants.
DevOpsDays are community events, which means that all events must have an open call for proposals and accept registrations from public. Therefore, privately selected speeches or sponsored speeches cannot be listed as “DevopsDays” events. We have currently closed CFPs and selected the most interesting talks and ignites from our point of view.
DevOpsDays goal is to create opportunities for conversation and collaboration during the event. In our case it is enhanced by open spaces format, but it can take many forms.
DevOpsDays are not for personal or corporate profit. Sponsors are very much appreciated for their financial help, and they are welcome to take a part in DevopsDays. However, they are never given your contact info, nor they are allowed to book speaking slots for talks or ignites at a the conference.
Why should I come?
There are a lot of reasons to come! Most DevopsDays events are a combination of curated talks and self organized conversations. We selected several speeches from more than 190 CFPs to ensure high quality content of talks and ignites! The self organized content is known as “open spaces”. Open Spaces give you the opportunity to talk about anything you'd like. The topics range widely, from highly technical, to pure culture, to board games for networking.
Moreover, you can look forward to networking with friendly DevOps community, great party, food and drinks & you can boast in the future that you were on the "first one" in Prague :)
Last but not least, you will have opportuninty to network with top companies in DevOps field, who helped us realized the conference.
Who can come?
Anyone who is interested in DevOps!
Developers, administrators, managers, IT leaders, entrepreneurs with a certain level of familiarity with cloud, internet, programming or IT architecture.
Why are you organizing this event?
We are a group of DevOps enthusiasts who feels that there is such conference missing. A bigger DevOps conference where the community could meet, share, collaborate and inspire. DevOps Days is non-profit conference, we run the event as volunteers. We hope this first year of DevOpsDays will start the tradition of the event in the Czech Republic.

DEVOPS DAYS PRAGUE
We are proud to announce our organizing team of DevOps enthusiasts and geeks.
Senior Principal Software Engineer
I’ve been working in Software Development for more than 15 years. I prefer medium-size companies with medium-size projects and relative fast feedback loop. I’ve started organizing Prague DevOps meetup 3 years ago. It has helped me to meet and get to know a lot of companies, people and technologies that are DevOps-oriented. I’m currently learning how to be a good parent, which is costing me a lot of time, but I would like to keep in touch with communities and people with free mind.

Senior DevOps Engineer
I have covered a number of different fields over the past 8 years; ranging from marketing and brand management through sales and key accounting to recruiting & HR. I am passionate about fast-paced start-up environment and helping companies grow rapidly. My last working experience brought me to a DevOps company; where I have started to actively build DevOps community via meetups, knowledge sharing and networking as well as had the opportunity to get involved in agile software development.
I’ve been moving between Dev and Ops roles for the past 12 years or so. I worked (and still do) for big corporations with heavy processes and red tape and I am trying to streamline and automate their pipelines and bring new technology into their world. So generally fighting with the windmills and trying to make sure that people can actually do what they need to do.
I’ve been working in marketing for the past 4 years. Started during studies in 180 Degrees Consulting, NGO, then moved to corporate sphere with EPAM Systems, where I am currently taking care of Marketing and CSR for Czech Republic.
For more than a decade, I’ve been crafting the ability of introducing sophisticated bugs into the software for future generations to resolve. That led me to an idea to share this art with community on MeetUps and spread the joy of software engineering.
